DESCRIPTION |
PAINTER, AUTOMOTIVE (automotive
service) Body Work & Paint
|
|
This position is for
a full time position, Monday –
Friday, from 7:30 A.M. until 4:30
P.M. Employee is responsible to check
all metal work before beginning. Grinding
is to begin on the conversion section
of the vehicle. Apply body filler
where necessary. Block sand all side
panels and windows until desired surface
finish is obtained. Apply primer and
let it dry. Block sand it again to
get the surface ready for paint. Prep
the vehicle so it is ready to go into
the spray booth. Paint the vehicle
and let it dry. When the paint has
fully dried, color sand it and buff
it. Install all exterior moldings
and paint them with rust resistant
paint, if necessary.
Paints surfaces of transportation
equipment, such as automobiles, buses,
and trucks, applying knowledge of
surface preparation and painting techniques,
using spray painting equipment, power
tools, and work aids: Cleans, sands,
and applies chemical solutions to
prepare and condition surfaces prior
to painting. Mixes and thins paint
or other coating to specified color
and consistency according to standard
formulas or color charts, using spatula
or mixing equipment and viscometer.
Masks and covers surfaces not to be
painted. Sprays specified amount or
thickness of primer, protective, decorative,
or finish coatings, such as paint,
lacquer, sealer, or enamel, onto prepared
surfaces, using spray equipment. Strips,
sands, masks, and repaints surfaces,
and blends and polishes finish to
match surrounding areas, manually
or using portable power tools. May
apply or retouch paint, using brush.
May lay out and paint insignias, symbols,
designs, or other markings on painted
surfaces, according to blueprints
or specifications, using stencils,
patterns, measuring instruments, brushes,
or spray equipment. May regulate controls
on equipment to cure and dry paint
or other coatings. May set up portable
ventilators, exhaust units, ladders,
and scaffolding prior to painting.
May operate lifting and moving devices
to move materials and equipment and
access areas to be painted. May remove
accessories from motor vehicles, such
as chrome, mirrors, and windshield
wipers, prior to repainting.
Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical
and hydraulic window-and-seat-operating
equipment, and trim to gain access
to vehicle body and fenders. Positions
dolly block against surface of dented
area and beats opposite surface to
remove dents, using hammer. Fills
depressions with body filler, using
putty knife. Removes damaged fenders,
panels, and grills, using wrenches
and cutting torch, and bolts or welds
replacement parts in position, using
wrenches or welding equipment. Straightens
bent automobile frames, using pneumatic
frame straightening machine. Files,
grinds, and sands repaired surfaces,
using power tools and hand tools.
Refinishes repaired surface, using
paint spray gun and sander. Aims headlights,
aligns wheels, and bleeds hydraulic
brake system. May paint
surfaces after performing body repairs
and be designated Automobile-Body
Repairer, Combination (automotive
ser.). May repair or replace defective
mechanical parts
For repainting and polishes repainted
vehicles: Sands rough spots on automotive
vehicle. Sprays scratched areas with
filler solution, using spray gun.
Applies paper and masking tape to
protect unpainted surfaces, such as
bumpers, windows, and chrome trim.
Removes gloss from intermediate coats
of paint, using wet sandpaper, to
ensure adherence of next coat. Polishes
final coat of paint, using polishing
compound and cloth. Paints surfaces
not readily accessible, such as wheels
and underside of fenders, using brush
and spray gun. May remove and replace
chrome moldings and trim. May brush
or spray undercoating material on
replaced parts. Performs other duties
as prescribed. Employee will also
be responsible for special requests
that are made to him by the General
Manager.
Benefits
Upon completing the 90 day introductory
period, the full time employee will
automatically be added to the company's
current health plan, which includes
health, dental, and vision, at no
cost to the employee. Additional family
members and dependents can be added
and will be at an additional cost
to the employee for which the employee
authorizes LimeLite to deduct the
cost for the dependant(s) from their
paycheck.
EMPLOYMENT
CONDITIONS AND CONTINGENCIES
 |
All
new employees are placed on a
90-day introductory period. During
this period, the service representative
will be instructed and familiarized
with company protocol regarding
policy, equipment & computer
usage, paper work flow procedures,
operational procedures, sales
techniques, industry overview,
with all necessary job training
and related functions along with
various industry specific information.
On the 91st day of employment
the employee is eligible for a
performance evaluation. Comprehension,
capability, compliance with company
policy, ability to advance along
with all other job related concerns
will be determined during this
evaluation. Performance evaluations
will be scheduled to take place
annually, after the initial evaluation.
Additional evaluations may take
place for advancement, disciplinary,
performance monitoring, or any
other purpose deemed necessary
by management. LimeLite reserves
the right to terminate employment
opportunity immediately with any
service representative, which
displays disregard for, or poses
a threat to, company personnel
or equipment. Additionally and
foremost, failure to comply with
company policy shall be grounds
for immediate termination. |

employment agreement may be
terminated at any time by either
party with proper notification.
This position is considered
an “at-will” employment.
CHRISTMAS
PAY
Employee
will be entitled to a Christmas
Bonus. Amount is TBD.
RETIREMENT PLAN
After
6 months of continuous employment,
employee will be eligible to
enroll in a simple I.R.A. where
LimeLite will match up to 3%
of your gross income, up to
a maximum of $8K/Year.
VACATION PAY
The
following schedule is the standard
vacation plan that is offered,
for full time employees, starting
with the first year anniversary.
Any variation to the vacation
plan must be approved by management.
A request for vacation must
be submitted on a time off request
form at least two weeks in advance.
It is recommended that a vacation
time off request be submitted
as far in advance as possible.
One (1) week paid vacation after
the first year of employment.
Two (2) weeks paid vacation
per year thereafter. Vacation
time does not accrue until after
the first (1) year of employment.

FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE
|
| Unpaid
leave must be granted for any
of the following reasons: |

To
care for the employee’s
child after birth, or placement
for adoption or foster care; |
 |
To
care for the employee’s
spouse, son or daughter, or parent,
who has a serious health condition;
or |
 |
For
a serious health condition that
makes the employee unable to perform
the employee’s job. |
 |
The
employee must provide 30 days
advance notice when the leave
is “foreseeable.” |
 |
An
employer may require medical certification
to support a request for leave
because of a serious health condition,
and may require second or third
opinions (at the employer’s
expense) and a fitness for duty
report to return to work. |

Non-Compete
Agreement
|
Employee, upon termination of
employment, for a period of one
(1) year, may not solicit or perform
service for any customer of LimeLite.
Employee may not use customer
lists, which is provided in the
form of, but not limited to, trip
tickets, lists and/or computer
database, for any purpose whatsoever,
that is not directly related to
use of, or for the sole benefit
of LimeLite. All customer lists,
in any form, are the private property
of LimeLite. All reservations,
sales and operational techniques
developed by, and used by LimeLite
are considered to be trade secrets
and intellectual property, which
is not to be used, or given for
use, to any other limousine or
ground transportation service,
or to be used by a previous employee,
in any limousine industry or ground
transportation service position
for the benefit or any third party. |
